Asian society pays more in deference towards patriarchy in terms of honor and hierarchy. Men are "always" stronger no matter what the actual circumstances may be in actuality. Even when the man is physically weaker and shorter in size, the female must believe she is the weaker one in strength and social norms. Violation of this cardinal rule is considered to be a taboo sin. People in Asian society are pretty much uncomfortable talking about this subject or discussing it. This is very much a cardinal rule. The deference in Asian culture is the belief of men are stronger and superior than women are. We all know that's not true.
This particular social norm has been practiced for centuries. Most of the continent of Asia has been this way for over 3 millenniums. Much of the countries located on the continent of Asia such as China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Nepal along a handful of other countries are still in this mindset of sexism in the 21st century.
